Most Skips of a single rope by a dog and person in one minute
The most skips by a dog and a person in one minute using a single rope is 62 and was achieved by Maya and Alexa Lauenburger (both German) on the set of Lo Show dei Record in Milan, Italy, on 8 February 2022.
Tallest Dog Living (male)
The tallest dog living (male) is Zeus, who measures 1.046 metres (3 ft 5.18 in), as verified in Bedford, Texas, USA, on 22 March 2022.
This honor belongs to Cupcake from New Jersey. Cupcake is a female long-haired chihuahua, who is the smallest service dog, measuring 6.25 inch in height. Hopefully one of those services is not guard dog.
Longest Dog Tongue
A boxer named Brandy had a 17-inch tongue. Brandy lived in Michigan with her family, and she had a tongue so long that she probably had to worry about tripping over it. The good news is that if she wanted to kiss you, you didn’t even need to be in the same room for her to do so.
Longest Ears on a Dog
This one shouldn’t come as much surprise. The longest ears ever belonged to a Bloodhound. Tigger had ears that were each nearly 14 inches long. There is no word on whether he was able to throw them over his shoulder like a Continental soldier, however.
Highest Jump
In 2017, a female Greyhound named Feather cleared a height of 75.5 inches, officially making her the highest-jumping dog in the world. It can be hard enough to train a dog not to jump on you — how in the world do you teach them not to jump over you?
Most Balls Held in Mouth
A Golden Retriever named Finley was capable of holding six tennis balls in his mouth simultaneously. This broke the record of five, held by another Golden Retriever named Augie.
Oldest Dog to Have Ever Lived
The oldest dog to have ever lived was an Australian Cattle Dog named Bluey, who lived for 29 years and 5 months. As you might expect, Bluey’s owners reported that this was not nearly long enough.
Largest Poodle Dog Litter
Crystal, a standard poodle, had 16 puppies in her first litter, a number owner Kelli Hewitt of Lancaster, Minn., believes is a tie for the record in the breed. The puppies shown here are 9 weeks old and are healthy.
Longest Time Trapped by a Dog
The longest time reported for a dog trapped in a well is 49 days, by Lillie, a black Labrador retriever who went missing from Bow in New Hampshire, USA, on 13 September 2007 and was returned to his owner Eileen Ketchum on 1 November. Lillie was found in a 5-ft-deep (1.5-m) well by hunter Adam Cheney, who was drawn by the sound of barking. Although Ketchum attributed Lillie’s survival to divine intervention, it’s likely that the lab lived by lapping up rainwater and licking the sides of the well.
Bobbie the Wonder Dog (1921–1927) was a dog who covered 2,551 miles (4,105 km) on his own to return home to Silverton, Oregon, United States, after he was lost while his owners were visiting family in Wolcott, Indiana. The journey is estimated to be as long as 3,000 miles (4,800 km).
Fastest 100 Meters Run with a Can Balanced on Head by a Dog
Sweet Pea, a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd cross ran a full 100 meters in just 2 minutes and 55 seconds – balancing a can on her head the entire time! She and her owner Alex Rothaker made this world record a reality on September 3, 2008, in Illinois, USA. Sweet Pea also has the record for the most steps walked down by a dog facing forward while balancing a glass of water, which she achieved with 10 perfectly placed steps. She can also walk up 10 steps with a glass of water on her head.
The longest spaceflight
The record was set in 1966 and according to Guinness World Records, the two dogs Veterok (Little Wind) and Ugolek (Little Piece of Coal) spent 22 days orbiting the Earth during the Soviet Kosmos 110 mission (launched 22 Feb 1966). This record was not surpassed by humans until the Skylab 4 mission in 1974.
Loudest Bark by a Dog
The record for the loudest bark is one that I’m glad my dog doesn’t have! Charlie, a Golden Retriever from Australia is the proud record holder for Loudest Bark by a Dog. Charlie’s bark was measured at 113 dB on October 20, 2012! Wow!
The loudest bark by a group of dogs
Charlie’s bark is even more amazing when you consider based on Guinness World Records the loudest dog bark measured is 124 decibels and was produced by 76 dogs in an event organized by Petmate, in Washington Park, Colorado, US on 7 November 2009. The event was organized to help raise food for local dog rescue centers and promote their line of dog toys named ‘Dogzilla.’ The barking was measured by a calibrated type I SPL sound meter.
To put 124 decibels in perspective, a typical rock concert ranges from 120 to 140 decibels.
According to Guinness World Records, the dog breed with the most toes as a standard feature of its morphology is the Norwegian Lundehund or Puffin Dog, which has six fully functional toes (and eight pads) on each of its four feet, instead of the normal four toes per foot as in other dog breeds.
The extra toes have been specifically selected when developing this spitz-type breed, in order to assist it in securing a firm grip on rocky surfaces when hunting puffins in the small cliff-face caves where they nest in its native Norway.
Most Expensive Dog
In 2011, a red Tibetan Mastiff named Big Splash was sold to a Chinese dog enthusiast for the robust price of $1.5 million. Big Splash reportedly eats a hearty diet of chicken and beef.
According to Guinness, Chanda-Leah could play the piano, paint, ride a skateboard, and could retrieve nearly anything! This one tiny Poodle had more talents than many humans do. To earn her place in the 1999 Guinness Book of World Records, Chanda-Leah performed 469 unique tricks! No wonder her record hasn’t been broken yet — she’s a hard act to follow!
